President Trump brokered a high priority trade agreement with the European Union. The deal formally authorizes a 15% tariff rate on our EU trade partners, and spurs ~$1.35 trillion dollars of direct foreign investment in the American economy. The move constitutes one of–if not the single largest–bilateral commerce agreements in history. 

EU sympathizers were critical of the trade accord, characterizing it as one-sided and advantageous to America; when even French Members of Parliament are roasting EU leadership for “surrendering” and “submitting” (for context, there’s a joke that France’s true  flag is the white flag of surrender), it’s yet another a great day to be an American.   

A friendly reminder that the academic credentials of White House trade representatives are irrelevant when they continue to get results like this. More deals are in flux/pending. We’ll keep you posted.

GOP leadership in the Senate is mulling ways to hasten the process; we’ll see what they cook up over August recess. Here’s hoping they come up with something that doesn’t entail a “nuclear option,”--every time a nuclear option has been invoked, it’s come back to bite the party that broke precedent in the ass.

Green Agenda Gutted

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin issued a rollback slashing federal regulations on industrial and commercial emissions. The regulations on the chopping block have been described as “The Holy Grail” of climate change mandates by establishment media outlets. 

The de-regulation is sweeping. More info here for our curious readers. Zeldin believes the rules he’s targeted have inflicted at least a trillion dollars in economic damage to American industry. Here’s hoping he’s right. 

A Deathknell For Establishment Media and Their Mouthpieces

By now our readers are aware Stephen Colbert’s late night “comedy” show is on borrowed time. That didn’t stop Kamala Harris from using the dying medium to announce (perhaps drunkenly?) she won’t be running for Governor of California, and she’s releasing a new tell-all book to monetize her electoral failure. She probably used Hillary Clinton’s publishing house of choice. Here’s hoping she and Gavin Newsom have fun on the 2028 primary trail. 

Democrat Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin also took to the Colbert show (and missed important floor votes to do so) to bolster her political future. Apparently, the former CIA agent thinks “corn fed” is relatable, complimentary language to use in describing her constituents.

Colbert’s imminent shutdown was funny enough, but it appears the Democrats’ propaganda golden goose, Media Matters, is on the precipice of meeting a similar fate. More on that here.

• This is not seriously political, but this kind of surgery should be outlawed. And doctors playing both sides of the equation should be sent to Gitmo.

• Elizabeth Warren took a tumble on the Senate floor. Texas’ own Ted Cruz was there for the assist at least. 

• Police Departments in Maine clearly aren’t doing enough, or don’t care about background checks.

• Chili’s partnered with Tecovas to release a new line of boots made from the leather of Chili’s booth seating. They sold out in less than two hours. If you want a pair, get on the waiting list; they only cost ~$300.

Houston Democrats predictably protested the measure, without detecting a hint of irony. Texas’ efforts may have well started a snowball effect; SCOTUS is set to examine districting practices from the ground up, and Democrats might not like the end result.

In our own back yard, law enforcement conducted an operation which resulted in the removal of 214(!!!) pedophiles from polite society. Glad the death penalty is still a thing in Texas. The amount of child predators arrested by ICE in Houston alone has already surpassed the number of total arrests for that unforgivable crime for the entirety of 2024. We voted for this.

Update: Texas Democrats have fled the state in order to deny a voting quorum, in a shameless attempt to delay and derail redistricting efforts. Please don’t come back.
