Republican leaders in Texas just tried to redraw our congressional maps to
hand Donald Trump five Democratic-held seats — not by winning more voters,
but by manipulating the system to hold onto power.

It’s a blatant attempt to rig the midterm elections, hold on to the
majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, silence millions of voices,
and undermine our democracy.

But Texas Democrats refused to stand by and watch it happen. Instead, they
took bold action and just broke quorum to stop Republicans from holding a
vote on the new map.

They stood up when it counted most — putting everything on the line to
defend fair representation and our democratic process. Now it’s our job to
stand with them and show them they are not alone.
