Texas Farm Bureau Breakfast in Hondo

On Wednesday, I met with farmers and ranchers in Medina County to discuss important issues impacting Texas' agriculture industry.

Our agricultural producers are the backbone of our state. From launching a facility in South Texas to combat the New World Screwworm to holding Mexico accountable for water deliveries, I've made it a priority to deliver real results for Texas farmers and ranchers.

Visit to Pecos: Road Safety in West Texas

This week, I was on the ground in Reeves County with elected officials and leaders from the Texas Department of Transportation to discuss the Pecos East Relief Route, more commonly known as "Death Highway".

During a House Appropriations Committee Meeting in May with U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, I raised this issue directly with him and highlighted the importance of addressing road safety concerns in areas that experience heavy oil and gas traffic.

To build upon Texas' efforts, I will soon introduce legislation that directs DOT to prioritize projects that improve public safety—especially in areas with heavy oilfield traffic.

On the Road in El Paso and Hudspeth Counties

I joined El Paso County Commissioner Jackie Butler in Montana Vista this week to survey key areas needing first-rate infrastructure and resources.

Recently, the House Appropriations Committee advanced my funding request for a new community center in Hudspeth County that would provide workforce training, youth development, and essential public services.

On Tuesday, Judge Mackenzie showed me a potential site for the center. I'll keep working hard to get this project signed into law.

Backing First Responders in TX-23

Earlier this week, I hosted a roundtable in El Paso with Texas DPS, the El Paso Police Department, and local law enforcement from across the Lower Valley.

When we invest in law enforcement, we invest in communities.

In TX-23, we will always back the men and women who answer the call to protect and serve the people of Texas.
