These are difficult times but your belief in what we’re fighting for keeps us moving forward.

With Donald Trump back in the White House, and too many in Congress willing to look the other way as he pushes an agenda that puts power above people, the guardrails of our democracy are being tested more than ever before.

But here’s what I also know: Wins are still possible, and I want to share one that's really close to my heart.

Over 30 years ago, I wrote Colorado’s clinic buffer zone law — a simple safeguard to protect patients from harassment and intimidation as they entered reproductive healthcare clinics.

For decades, that law has helped ensure that Coloradans could access care with dignity. And just last week, when anti-abortion extremists tried once again to challenge it in court, they lost. The law stood. And so did the principle behind it: That every person deserves safe, respectful healthcare, free from fear.

To me, this victory is a reminder that even in the most uncertain times, justice is possible and we must continue fighting for our communities. In moments like this, I think about our neighbors — about how we show up for each other, especially when it’s hard. Johh, I want you to know, no matter what the Trump administration throws at us, I will always be there to fight for you in the halls of Congress.
