As the economic effects of the pandemic spread
across Europe, the EU needs to support its economy so we
can guarantee stability and foster growth. As the COVID-19 pandemic
puts the European Union’s strength to the test, its institutions are
taking measures to cushion the economy from the impact of the
crisis.
To discuss what the EU is doing to support
Member States and citizens, we are holding the next Investing in the Future of
Europe event entitled The EU’s plan for recovery and long-term
resilience, organised by the European Movement
International, in partnership with the European Investment Bank.
After events held across Europe since 2017, this
discussion will be held online next Wednesday, 1 July
2020 (15:30-16:30).
The panel will
feature Thomas Östros, Vice President | European Investment Bank Valérie
Hayer MEP, member of the EP’s negotiating team for
the next long-term EU budget and Own Resources reform | European
Parliament Luc
Tholoniat, Principal Adviser | Directorate-General
for Economic and Financial Affairs, European Commission
