These emails are the best way for our campaign to stay in touch with supporters like you. If you'd prefer, you can unsubscribe here. John, I’m Roy Cooper. On Monday, we launched our campaign to help take back the United States Senate for Democrats, and already, the enthusiasm we’ve seen from folks across the country is astonishing. Can I have a moment of your time to reintroduce myself and let you know why I’m running?
North Carolina is my home, and I’ve spent a lifetime in service to this state. It’s where I was born, raised, went to school, and raised my own family. I’ve had the honor of serving as a state legislator, Attorney General, and Governor. I’m proud of the work we achieved together — including bringing thousands of jobs to the state and, in what may have been my most impactful achievement as Governor, expanding Medicaid. Now, more than 650,000 North Carolinians are covered by Medicaid expansion — but that coverage is imperiled by Washington Republicans’ bill slashing funding for Medicaid and other services Americans rely on. I’m asking for your support to serve our nation as the next Democratic Senator because so much of the progress we have made is in danger now, not only for North Carolinians, but for every American. That’s why I’m running for Senate. I’m running because every American deserves access to health care — and that means we need to preserve Medicaid, not slash it to give billionaires a handout. I’m running because reproductive rights are fundamental — and we need to fight to restore abortion access nationwide. I’m running because our planet is in jeopardy — and right now the people in power would rather allow corporations to pollute our air and water than find a new direction. Americans deserve leaders who will take a stand for what is right. I am ready to serve again, but this time in Washington
Let’s do this together, Roy Cooper
