He appointed more than 200 judges to lifetime positions on the bench in his first term alone. Now, Trump has unleashed the first slate of judicial nominees of his second term, including MAGA extremists with records attacking abortion rights, birthright citizenship, and more.
Despite this grave threat to our judicial branch and democracy as a whole, the Senate Democratic caucus has not shown the kind of fighting spirit we need to stop these right-wing nominees from being confirmed.
Some Senators have barely asked any questions during confirmation hearings, with others not even bothering to show up. One even voted to confirm an anti-abortion nominee, then admitted he regretted it.
Confirmation votes have already begun, with five of Trump’s first nominees already being confirmed, with more nominees on the way.
When Democrats fail to stand up to far-right nominees — or worse, help them get lifetime seats on the bench — voters deserve to know. We’ll be using this tracker to shine a light on every single vote.
