Dear John,

A view from the 'Red Wall'

Switchers from Labour to Conservative at the election make opinions known

Our new report <[link removed]> finds Red Wall areas in England's North West and Midlands are particularly vulnerable to the double economic shock of a No-Deal Brexit on top of a Corona recession.

Up to 90 per cent of voters in Red Wall seats believe it's important or very important the Government sticks to its manifesto pledge and delivers a ‘great new deal’ for Britain with the EU.

These areas voted to give the Conservatives their majority, so the government has both a duty to do what's right and an electoral reason too. Tell your MP we all want to work more closely with Europe in 2021, not cut ourselves adrift. <[link removed]>

We think it’s crucial to understand the Red Wall area of the UK. Constituencies that switched from Labour to Conservative in the 2019 elections. They are key election battlegrounds - the opinion of these voters will likely decide the outcome of the next election.

And these areas will be most exposed to the economic double whammy of a no deal Brexit and the Coronavirus. They voted for an ‘oven-ready’ deal - not a second crisis on top of the unprecedented challenges of COVID. The Government has a duty to deliver its promise.

All MPs should take note that voters in this key electoral battleground so strongly support an EU deal. While some voted to leave, this polling shows no one voted to leave without a deal. Tell your MP we say no to no deal. <[link removed]>

The UK is once again faced with the threat of a no deal.

And it is once again up to us to hold the line, keep up hope and avoid a devastating no deal exit at all costs.

Best wishes,
