John, did you know that Medicaid is the primary source of coverage and the largest single payer for pregnancy health care nationwide?
The fact is that more than 1.47 million births in 2024 were covered by Medicaid funding. Medicaid ensures access to health care — physical and mental — before, during, and after birth. And now the “pro-life” party is putting the lives of moms and babies at risk when House Republicans cut millions of people off their health care.
I care deeply about maternal health. It’s why I co-chair the Black Maternal Health Caucus and am fighting to eliminate the disparities we see between moms of different racial groups and specifically to address the Black maternal health crisis.
We know that the cuts Republicans have made to Medicaid will bring even worse outcomes for Black moms. That’s why we need to secure a House majority that is committed to expanding affordable health care, NOT defunding it.
I will continue fighting for maternal health care in the House every day. That’s why I am asking for your support today. Will you pitch in $5 right now?
