I’ve spent my career fighting for New Yorkers, but I’ve never seen anything like this.

Republicans passed a bill that rips health care away from over 1.5 million New Yorkers, slashes nutrition assistance for nearly 3 million, and forces our state to absorb billions of dollars in cuts.

Every single New York Republican in Congress voted for it. All seven of them.

I want you to know that I will not stand by while families lose their doctors, hospitals are pushed to the brink of closure, and kids go hungry.

This bill has cut $13 billion from our state’s healthcare system. It could lead to nearly 3 million New Yorkers who count on SNAP struggling to put food on the table.

All this just to secure more tax cuts for billionaires. The New York Republicans who pushed this bill through are selling out the people who make New York thrive — teachers, nurses, cashiers, farmers.

I’m doing all I can to stop the harm this bill will have on New Yorkers.

I’ve directed every state agency to prepare strategies that protect our people and safeguard essential services, but I can’t do it alone.
