John, I believe in the knock knock joke, the pun, and yes the dad joke.
For example: “Have you read that book on anti-gravity?...
I have, I couldn’t put it down.” 😂
You may cringe, but you may also smile a bit, and that’s the point.
I know I talk a lot about serious stuff like voting rights, medicaid cuts, democracy, attacks on the free press, and so on.
And I can’t lie, these aren’t fun things; they can feel heavy. It is hard to burden yourself day after day with the horrors around us.
But that’s why I am such a believer in humor as the ultimate act of resistance.
John, I refuse to let the craven and mean in the world take away my capacity for joy. So I laugh and I get back to work.
So, if you’re feeling down about the state of the world, know you are not alone. And know that finding a little joy and a little humor could be just the boost you need to keep working.
One more for the road here: “Where do rainbows go when they've been bad?
To prism, so they have time to reflect on what they've done.” 😂
Thanks for the laughs,
Stacey
