Dear Friend, |
This week the Trump administration made one thing clear: It will do absolutely nothing to address climate change. |
On Tuesday, Trump’s EPA announced a proposal to undo the “endangerment finding” — the scientific conclusion that recognizes greenhouse gases as a serious threat to our health and planet. This finding is the legal cornerstone for regulating pollution from cars, trucks, power plants, and oil fields. Without it, the EPA can erase pollution limits, and the door opens wide for even more climate destruction. |
The EPA’s move comes despite overwhelming evidence that climate change is already fueling devastating disasters across the U.S. From deadly flash floods and raging wildfires to record-breaking heat waves and tornadoes, the signs of a warming planet are impossible to ignore. Just this year, 15 climate-related disasters have caused billions in damage — and hundreds of lives have been lost. |
And yet, the EPA is saying it’s not up to the government to protect us from this risk. |
We will continue to hold this administration accountable as it tries to dismantle climate protections and ignores the reality threatening millions of Americans. We’ve fought in court before — including the landmark Massachusetts v. EPA case that established the EPA’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases — and we’re ready to do it again. |
At Earthjustice, I am grateful to work with the best environmental lawyers in the country. They are preparing to go to court as soon as this decision is final. But these legal battles require resources, expertise, and your support. Will you make a gift today and help us take on the fights ahead? |
|
In every case, we represent our clients free of charge. That means your donations powers our legal work to hold polluters accountable and stop this rollback of critical climate protections. Together, we can push back against this reckless attack and keep the pressure on decision-makers to act on climate — not deny it. |
Thank you for your steadfast commitment to protecting the planet and our future. |
|
Sincerely,
The Team at Earthjustice |
