Sound Transit is quietly overhauling its expansion plans after massive cost overruns made the original ST3 blueprint unaffordable, all the while collecting record tax revenues.

This crisis offers a chance to rethink decades-old assumptions and shift toward more effective, sustainable transit solutions before billions more dollars are wasted. Unfortunately, their latest enterprise initiative seemingly does little to address cost containment.
