purchase and assemble 3,000 backpacks with supplies, ready to go to
thousands of kids in need across The Bronx and Queens:

I want to stress that it wasn’t just donations, but also your time,
effort, and presence that made this happen too.

Our office was FILLED with supporters on Tuesday night, creating community
and hand-packing thousands of backpacks with supplies so that we are ready
to go a month ahead of time for thousands of kids to go back to school.

Every year these get bigger and bigger. It’s a true testament to what this
is all about.

From now until school starts, we’ll be helping public housing
developments, community organizations, houses of worship, and food
pantries have the best family events they can possibly have, giving out
backpacks and other back-to-school resources to families who may need a
little extra help.
