Brennan Center evidence proves the president’s take on fake voters is nothing but fake news.

Trump's false claims of voter fraud
President Trump is at it again. Ahead of a re-election campaign stop in New Hampshire, the president told reporters that he would have won the Granite State if it weren’t for widespread voter fraud.

“New Hampshire should have been won last time, except we had a lot of people come in at the last moment, which was a rather strange situation,” Trump said. “Thousands and thousands of people coming in from locations unknown. But I knew where their location was.”

So, how rare is voter fraud really? We reached out to those who would know best: the local officials who actually ran the election in 2016.

Election officials across 42 jurisdictions who oversaw the tabulation of 23.5 million votes in the 2016 general election estimated only 30 incidents of suspected noncitizen voting — that accounts for .0001 percent of the votes studied.

Congress should do more on election security
Our latest analysis finds that more than 1-in-10 voters could still cast their ballots on paperless voting machines, and 34 percent of all local election jurisdictions are using voting machines that are at least a decade old. This a serious risk to our democracy.
