Donald Trump and his allies are trying to erase the existence of transgender individuals, scare them into the shadows of society, and deny their rights.

Trump has been relentlessly targeting the trans community from his first day in office when he signed an Executive Order declaring the U.S. would only recognize two sexes — followed by another that specifically targeted trans kids.

It’s cruel, irresponsible, and unlawful.

I’ve filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump, Pam Bondi, and the administration challenging their discriminatory federal actions — and if you’re with me, I hope you’ll add your name to my petition today.

Trump and the DOJ are trying to insert themselves into private healthcare decisions made between patients, providers, and families. They’re demanding that medical providers discriminate against transgender individuals — denying already vulnerable adolescents medically-necessary care.

But let’s be clear: Trump and Bondi have no legal ground to stand on. There is no federal law in this country prohibiting gender-affirming care. In fact, California and many other states have laws protecting the right to gender-affirming care.

All Americans, regardless of their gender identity, have the inalienable right to equal protection under the law. That includes the right to access healthcare free from discrimination, and to make important healthcare decisions in consultation with their medical providers. Politicians aren’t needed in our doctors’ offices.

Bottom line — this is for patients, parents, and providers to decide. Not Donald Trump and Pam Bondi.
