LCB:  Public Hearings on Proposed Rules (Alcohol and Cannabis)

 

Two Public Hearings – Thursday, Aug. 14, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Hearing Topic 1. Proposed rules: Acceptable Forms of ID (Alcohol and Cannabis)

Hearing Topic 2. Proposed rules: Seasonal Hours (Alcohol)

 

The Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) is holding two online hearings on Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. These hearings will be held during the same public meeting in the order presented above. Because it is not possible to accurately estimate the number of people who may testify at the first hearing there is not an exact time for the second hearing. We suggest everyone who has an interest in either topic arrive to the online meeting at 10 a.m.

 

Hearing Topic 1: Acceptable Forms of Identification: This hearing seeks input on proposed rules (CR 102) to amend WAC 314-11-025 and WAC 314-55-150  on acceptable forms of identification for buying alcohol and cannabis.

Hearing Topic 2: Seasonal Hours for Beer/Wine Restaurants: The LCB also invites your input on proposed rules (CR 102) to amend WAC 314-02-045 regarding seasonal hours requirements for beer and/or wine restaurant licensees.

Those who are not able to attend these hearings and who would like to provide input, can send written testimony to [email protected] by August 14, 2025.

During the online hearings please keep the following in mind:

  • Both sessions will be recorded and are subject to public disclosure. The recordings ensure we collect all feedback and that those who can't attend can view the sessions on the Rules webpage when they are available.
  • The Teams chat feature will be on. Questions written in the chat will be saved in the rulemaking file and are subject to public disclosure.
  • Questions and comments in the sessions' chat will not be responded to in real time but will be addressed at the end of the session.
  • Participants will be muted and will be unmuted when the sessions' leader enables their microphone.
  • To ask questions during the sessions, participants must use the raise hand function and they will then be unmuted to ask their question.
