Dear Friend,

I hope you are having a good week.

As your elected Representative, it is an honor to stand with you and fight for the benefits and services San Antonians rely on.

This week, I was on the ground in San Antonio and Austin speaking out against new congressional maps that would take away Texans' voice on important matters like healthcare, Social Security, access to higher education, and more. It was a pleasure meeting with many of you.

As always, if I can be of any assistance to you, please call my office in San Antonio at (210) 348-8216 or my office in Washington at (202) 225-3236.

The Fight Against Trump's Illegal Power Grab

Yesterday, I traveled to Austin to speak out again against the illegal, mid-decade redistricting.

Donald Trump is using Texas to protect himself.

The state legislators must determine whether they are going to do the work that everyday Texans are concerned about or whether they are going to do Donald Trump's bidding.

Watch here.

Historically, the Texas legislature has had a strong independent streak to it.

It has not taken its orders from presidents--Democrat or Republican.

I hope the legislature will do the business of Texas and not take the orders of Donald Trump.

Texas State Association of Letter Carriers

It was an honor to join the Texas State Association of Letter Carriers for their 2025 convention this past Tuesday.

USPS makes sure folks receive paychecks, bills, important prescriptions, and more. After steep DOGE cuts, I'm fighting for the resources postal workers need to do their critical work.

Gaza Letter to U.S. Security Companies

U.S companies must be held accountable for their actions in Gaza. I joined my colleagues in demanding answers from U.S. security companies that have attacked starving Palestinians at aid distribution sites in Gaza.

We must protect innocent civilians from harm and prevent American veterans, employed by these companies, from committing war crimes.

My Statement on Forced Starvation in Gaza

The humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza is unconscionable. Millions of Palestinians are trapped under siege conditions--with food, clean water, and medical supplies deliberately restricted.

The United States must use every point of leverage we have, with both Israel and Hamas, to end this catastrophic war before thousands more civilians die.

During the interview, I explained that constituents could be stripped of their voice and unable to send representation to Washington that will fight for them, including strengthening healthcare and defending Social Security.

Thank you for staying in touch. I am proud to represent my hometown and will continue to fight to make our voices heard.
