** John,
------------------------------------------------------------
Last week, I co-hosted a powerful conversation on Capitol Hill with advocates, organizers, and community members to address two urgent and intersecting injustices: ICE abductions in our communities, and the United States' continued role in funding Israel's assault on Gaza.
One of our guest speakers was Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian activist and Columbia graduate who was illegally detained by ICE for over 100 days earlier this year. His story is one of many — and proof of how our government uses immigration as a tool of political power and fear to silence dissenting voices.

This is exactly why I introduced the Block the Bombs Act: to stop sending U.S. weapons to Israel and hold them accountable to US and international law.
And it’s why I continue to fight for an end to the unlawful detentions, deportations, and targeted surveillance that ICE uses against immigrants, people of color, and those who dare speak out for Palestinian rights.
What we’re seeing is clear. Mass abductions and fear tactics by ICE. Billions of U.S. tax dollars sent to support genocide. And a growing movement of everyday people saying enough.
Grassroots resistance is what’s pushing this conversation forward. That’s where our power comes from.
If you’re ready to end U.S. complicity in Israel’s inhumane war and stop the violent targeting of immigrant communities, I hope you’ll stand with us. ([link removed])
The fight for Palestinians, immigrant justice, and a world without state violence is far from over — but together, we are growing stronger.
In Solidarity,
Delia
