John,

This is urgent: Clearview AI is still profiting from stolen photos, including yours. And they are handing them over to the police.

Clearview AI has stolen over 50 billion images from social media and websites — without anyone’s permission. They have created one of the largest facial recognition databases in the world using illegal and unethical practices on the backs of everyday people like us. They sell access to this database to law enforcement, ICE, and government agencies, including in your own state. That means they’re giving police and prosecutors the ability to target you, your family, and your community, all without your knowledge or consent. Clearview AI’s biggest customers are law enforcement and immigration authorities, including your local police department. This is not hypothetical.

1. Louisiana police used Clearview AI’s faulty tech to wrongfully arrest Randal Quran Reid, jailing him for a week for a crime he didn’t commit
2. In Ohio, Clearview AI was used to identify and target Black women dancing on a police car for arrest
3. And across the country, local police and immigration officers are buying access to Clearview AI without proper oversight, violating basic rights and due process.
This technology is unreliable. It’s invasive. And it’s dangerous.

From local agencies to the Trump administration are using this dangerous technology, contributing to wrongful arrests, hyper-surveillance, and government overreach.

But there are options to counter them.

Your State Attorney General can hold Clearview AI - and other bad actors like them accountable, but they need to hear from us now.

We are calling on AGs:

1. Tell us how many law enforcement agencies and offices in their state use Clearview AI;
2. Investigate potential consumer protection and privacy violations by the theft of our personal photos;
3. Join with other AGs in coordinating nationwide investigations, and;
4. Enforce consumer protection state law to protect people’s biometric privacy.

Tell your AG to take action now: [link removed]

We’ve seen what happens when this technology is allowed to go unchecked: more surveillance, more targeting, and more harm, especially to Black people and other vulnerable communities.

We can’t afford to wait.
Clearview AI is still operating, still selling our faces to the highest bidder, and still putting our people at risk.

John, we need you in this fight. Sign on to our petition, download and share our Black Tech Agenda with your friends and family, and demand that the State Attorneys General take action now.
