John, I was just on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell after Texas Republicans released their outrageously gerrymandered map.

In case you missed it, here’s the deal:

Republicans’ new map, ordered up by Donald Trump himself, is blatantly racist and unconstitutional.

It disenfranchises voters of color in a rigged attempt to flip 5 House seats from blue-to-red – including my seat in TX-32.

They dragged my district out over 200 miles, across six counties, almost to the Louisiana-Texas line… it’s downright absurd.

John, there’s absolutely no doubt that this map is unconstitutional. It clearly violates the Voting Rights Act.

But if Texas Republicans’ map lands in the Supreme Court, there’s no guarantee that they’ll side with democracy over Trump.

So here’s my last word: This is not just a fight for Texas Democrats. It’s a fight to defend the voices of voters, take back the House majority from rigged Republicans, and tell Donald Trump that he has no damn right to interfere in our elections.
