| Georgia conservatives recently advanced several key measures to help students return to a safer, more stable classroom environment this fall: 
 ✏️ The Legislature fully funded public education and several priorities, including: 
  $13.6+ billion invested in public education  $162 million invested in school safety grants  $22+ million in new literacy coaches and other literacy tools 
 ✏️ The Distraction Free Education Act (HB 340), which takes effect in 2026, bans cellphone use during the school day, so kids can focus on learning. ✏️ The Riley Gaines Act (SB 1 ) defends fairness in girls' sports by ensuring teams are based on biological sex. ✏️ Ricky & Alyssa's Law (SB 17) requires mobile panic-alert buttons and digital campus maps in every K-12 school to improve emergency response and keep students safe.  |
