Friend,

Cruel.

That's the only way to describe President Trump's decision to roll back health care protections for transgender Americans. During Pride Month. In the middle of a global pandemic. On the anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

Cruel. That's the calling card of this administration regarding LGBTQ issues, despite this promise by President Trump during the 2016 campaign:

Trump Tweet 2016

President Trump has only brought in people who threaten LGBTQ freedoms and beliefs. People like Stephen Miller, Jared Kushner, Brett Kavanaugh, Betsy DeVos, Jeff Sessions and Bill Barr. LGBTQ Americans are objectively less protected, less free, and less safe than they were four years ago -- and it's President Trump's fault.

From not allowing transgender Americans to serve in the military, to working to bar same-sex couples from adopting, to this month's heinous decision to roll back transgender health care protections, LGBTQ people in this country are in trouble.

President Trump needs to hear from us, and he needs to hear from us now: Tweet at Donald Trump and tell him you haven't forgotten about his 2016 promise to protect LGBTQ Americans, and ask him where he stands now, during Pride Month, facing the same election once again.

Sincerely,

Chuck Schumer
