John, it’s Gabe.

We just closed out our fundraising for July, and I’m proud to let you know that we hit our end-of-month fundraising goal.

That might not seem like a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but in a campaign like ours — built on everyday people stepping up here in NM-02 — it means everything to me.

I didn’t come into politics the traditional way. I wasn’t groomed for this or handed a clear path.

I was raised by a single mom who came to this country from Mexico with nothing but hope and determination.

She worked long hours and sacrificed plenty so I’d have a shot at something more. It was her strength that shaped my view of the world — that dignity and hard work matter. And it’s because of her, and families like ours, that I decided to run.

Since then, my mission’s been simple: speak up for the people who usually get ignored. For the folks who keep things running but rarely get credit. For the people living in small towns, raising kids, working two jobs, and hoping someone in power finally pays attention.

But here’s the hard truth: empathy is in short supply in our politics right now.

We’re watching lawmakers tear down the very people they should be fighting for. We’re being told that looking out for each other is weakness — that compassion should come second to profit or power.

John, I couldn’t disagree more.

There is nothing extreme about caring for our neighbors. There’s nothing soft about standing up for each other. It’s not a weakness — it’s the foundation of strong, thriving communities.

I believe we can get back to that. I believe we must.

But it won’t happen on its own. It’ll take all of us — organizing, voting, pushing — to replace those who’ve turned their backs on our values with leaders who carry them forward.

We’ve got a real shot to start turning things around in 2026 — and lay the groundwork for real, lasting change. And with you on this team, I know we can start building toward something better, together.

Thanks again for everything,

Gabe Vasquez

P.S. We just launched our August fundraising. If you’re able to pitch in again, even a few dollars will help us keep building momentum. Let’s hit this month just as strong:

Together, we flipped NM-02 in 2022. Now, Gabe is busy in Congress fighting for reproductive choice, economic opportunity, affordable healthcare, and the best interests of the people. Gabe won the most competitive Democratic seat in Congress in 2022, and is running to be a champion for working families and build an economy that benefits everyone.
