Friend, I'm deeply honored to have won the Democratic nomination for NY-24.

I ran because we need new leadership in Congress that will stand up for improving access to healthcare, an economy that works for all of us, environmental protection, stronger public education, and true equality for everyone. I promise to work hard every single day for real people -- not corporate donors.

I'm incredibly grateful to all our volunteers, grassroots donors, and online supporters who stepped up to amplify our message at every turn. This victory belongs to you, and your hard work has sent an unmistakable message that our district is ready for a representative who believes in putting people first -- a representative who will stand up for our district and our nation's most vulnerable.

I want to express my appreciation for my primary opponent, Francis Conole. He showed in this campaign that he cares deeply about the future of our district, and I have the utmost respect for the sacrifices he's made for our country. I look forward to working with him in the coming days to unify our party -- and I know he has an incredible future ahead of him.

Now, as we celebrate our primary victory, we must work immediately to mobilize for the general election in a swing district. John Katko's sitting on a war chest of over $1 million, and I'm counting on grassroots supporters like you to help our campaign compete against the many ads we know he'll run against me.

The first step is posting a strong fundraising total when our next filing period ends on June 30. I want to show that at the start of the general election, our people-powered campaign has real momentum behind it.

John Katko has enabled Republican efforts to destroy Obamacare. He opposes a woman's right to choose. And despite overwhelming evidence of impeachable acts and a litany of abuses of power, he endorsed Donald Trump for re-election.

These are the stakes that NY-24 faces in November. And we need to make that clear to the general electorate as soon as possible.
