Between Monday, Aug. 4, and Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, ALL Trinity Metro local services are FREE! That means you can ride the Trinity Metro Bus, Trinity Metro TEXRail, Trinity Metro On-Demand, Trinity Metro Bikes, or Trinity Railway Express (TRE) anywhere in Tarrant County at no cost.
If you’ve been curious about trying public transportation, this is the time to give it a go without any fares to worry about! With five different services around the County, there’s an easy, convenient ride for everyone.
It’s also the perfect opportunity to explore new places and do some back-to-school shopping during the Texas Tax-Free weekend August 8–10! No fares, no sales tax – just more reason to take a ride!
Simply board the bus or train – no ticket needed – and begin your adventure throughout Tarrant County!

 RIDE THE ORANGE LINE TO BULLS, BANDS, & BARRELS
This ain't your grandpappy's rodeo!
Prepare yourself for two wild nights where the heart-pounding energy of a rodeo collides with live country music and intense barrel racing. Bulls, Bands, & Barrels is bringing a fresh, thrilling take on rodeo entertainment that will make you forget everything you thought you knew about it. It's big, loud and packed with action!
The 2025 tour stops in Fort Worth at the Cowtown Coliseum in the legendary Fort Worth Stockyards Aug. 22-23 featuring Hudson Westbrook and Braxton Keith.
And of course, Trinity Metro's Orange Line is your best option to reach the action.
 DOWNTOWN PUB CRAWL, ANYONE?
Ride Trinity Metro’s new Blue Line to enjoy Happy Hour throughout downtown Fort Worth. This FREE circulator loops around downtown, giving you easy, car-free access to bars, shops, dining, hotels, and more!
Operating seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., with stops every seven minutes, it's never been easier or more convenient to circle downtown! And it's FREE all the time!
Hop aboard the beautifully air-conditioned and art-filled bus to get to Happy Hour, lunch, shopping at Sundance Square and so much more during these hot summer months.
 HAPPENINGS IN THE PLAZA
Sundance Square is the heart of downtown Fort Worth and the Plaza is jam-packed with great family-friendly events and happenings. In August, your family may experience numerous live musical performances, including Mariachi Real de Alvarez, Davy Mooney, plus swing dance lessons provided by Jubilee Swing Dance.
And Trinity Metro can get you there. Enjoy rides on Trinity Metro TEXRail, Trinity Railway Express or a number of Trinity Metro bus routes that arrive at Fort Worth Central Station and then transfer to the new Blue Line curbside on Jones Street at bus bay S2 for a quick trip to Sundance Square Plaza.
