Dear Friend,
As I write this, I’m still processing and praying over what I witnessed in recent days. I went to central Texas shortly after the deadly flash floods and ministered alongside our crisis-trained chaplains. The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) is on the ground bringing comfort and the hope of Jesus to hurting families in the aftermath.
I had the opportunity to speak and pray with Rebecca,* who told me her incredible story of survival. As the floodwaters rose, Rebecca tried to move her elderly mother to safety. To her horror, the flooding had already entered her mother’s room and the resulting pressure made it impossible to push the door open. She couldn’t reach her mom. All she could do was pray.
On the other side of the door, her mother was unable to get out of bed, so she simply laid on her mattress waiting to be overtaken by the flood. But then a miracle happened—the mattress began to float as the water rose. Her mother’s room happened to have a vaulted ceiling, which provided just enough of a gap for her mom to ride out the storm and then slowly lower back down to the ground as the flood subsided.
Please join me in praying for hurting individuals across this entire region, as well as for our chaplains as they shine the light of Christ in dark times.
Thank you for your heart to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are longing for real peace and lasting hope.
Blessings,

Will Graham
