Friend --

The Trump administration is peddling some dangerous lies about mail-in voting.

First, Attorney General Barr called voting by mail "opening the floodgates to fraud" in an interview. He even went as far as to suggest that mail-in ballots might not be secret.

Then, President Trump tweeted that "millions of mail-in ballots will be printed by foreign countries," saying that the 2020 election would be "rigged" and the "scandal of our times."

Let's set the record straight.

We're facing a global pandemic. People across the Commonwealth and across the country may feel torn between protecting their health and the health of their families and casting their ballot. They shouldn't have to choose.

That's why Mark Warner is a proud co-sponsor of the VoteSafe Act, which would require all states to allow residents to cast their ballots by mail in 2020 elections, expand in-person early voting options nationwide, and make improvements to the voter registration process.

Will you help Mark raise public awareness of the VoteSafe Act and become a citizen co-sponsor?

Thousands of Virginians used mail-in voting to securely cast their ballots for Tuesday's primary elections and thousands more will have the opportunity to do so for the November general election. Expanding our voting options doesn't take away anyone's right to cast their ballot in person if they choose. It adds options for those who may not feel safe or may not be able to visit their polling place by expanding early in-person voting and making voting by mail more accessible.

Thanks to our General Assembly, Virginia already has expanded ballot access, and Mark believes that every voter should have the same opportunity to safely cast their ballot. We have to act quickly on this, so we can get this policy in place by Election Day.

Bottom line: The only reason you'd be against mail-in voting is if you wanted fewer people to vote.

Thank you for your support.
