Fellow activist,

We wanted to reach out to thank you for your incredible support. We are less than 100 days away from Election Day, and Team NPP is working hard to prepare for the important judicial elections, including the non-partisan retention election for three PA Supreme Court justices. We wouldn’t be able to do this without you – that’s why we wanted to share a few updates on what we have been up to over the past few weeks.

First, our founding CEO, Kadida Kenner, joined former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Sophia Lin Lakin, Director of the ACLU Voting Rights Project, to discuss state courts and the fight for a fair democracy. Rachel Rossi, President of Alliance for Justice Action Campaign, moderated the panel's discussion as they looked ahead to the 2030 census and redistricting. You can watch the panel discussion here:

Additionally, Omar Sabir, Chair of the Philadelphia City Commissioners, hosted a Voter Turnout Roundtable, and NPP was proud to be a partner in the roundtable discussion. This event brought together elected officials, community partners, and civic leaders to identify strategies for increasing voter participation, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring equitable access to the ballot for all Philadelphians. NPP supports this commitment to building stronger civic engagement across neighborhoods and preparing for upcoming elections in 2025 and beyond.

That’s not all: NPP was at the Good Trouble Rally in Philadelphia, where Kadida and other leaders gathered for a day of action at City Hall in Philadelphia on Thursday, July 17th. Kadida was one of many inspirational speakers at the rally. Additionally, NPP was at the Good Trouble Training Day in Pittsburgh, hosted by Indivisible Pittsburgh, on Saturday, July 19th, where Kadida Kenner was also a keynote speaker. At this event, we discussed the courts and what's at stake regarding our rights and freedoms – and what you can do about it.

Finally, we wanted to remind you that NPP has launched “Slingshot The Podcast!” In this podcast, Kadida brings her background as a civil rights advocate and former TV producer into each episode, offering fresh perspectives on civic engagement, justice, and power. Slingshot is where bold conversations meet culture, politics, sports, and real-world issues. We amplify the voices too often overlooked or misrepresented – voices that move the culture forward. Whether we’re talking policy or pop culture, this is unfiltered truth from the ground up. You can listen to the podcast here!

We are proud of all the work we have accomplished and are grateful for your support, which helps make this possible. But we are just getting started:

NPP is preparing to launch an independent expenditure Get-Out-The-Vote door-knocking program to turn out eligible voters in the 2025 November General Election. Everything we do — from attending rallies and releasing podcasts to knocking on doors — is geared toward allowing us to continue expanding Pennsylvania's electorate. There is so much at stake in the upcoming judicial and municipal elections, and we will be on the ground working to reach our centered communities and ensure that they understand the power of their vote.

Thank you for your ongoing support,

Team NPP
Donations to the New Pennsylvania Project supports our staff’s community engagement efforts including; organizing and hosting town halls, educational webinars, community conversations, and creating digital content, bi-weekly blasts and social media to reach the communities we engage year-round.

The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
