Whether it's these 27 different state bills, John, or the SAVE Act in Congress, it's abundantly clear that opponents of voting rights are only ramping up their attacks on our fundamental rights . We have to put pressure on them to stop at both the state and federal level.

BCJ: State Bills Would Require Passport or Birth Certificate to Register to Vote [[link removed]]
John,
We've told you that voter I.D. laws are unfairly biased against people of color, young people, and unmarried women. However, across the country, states are introducing bills to make these laws even MORE restrictive at an alarming rate.
The nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice has the details: “ Lawmakers in at least 27 states have introduced…bills in 2025 that would require some or all voters to show citizenship documents to vote .” Not just when you register, but every single time you show up to cast a ballot.
While citizenship is required to vote, rigorous research shows time and again that instances of votes cast by non-citizens are extremely rare. At least 21 million citizens, however, do not have immediate access to the I.D. documents these laws would demand, including 3.1 million voters who lack documents entirely.
The suppressive SAVE Act is stalled in Congress. So opponents of voting rights have turned to the states. These bills aren’t motivated by a desire for free and fair elections – they’re just another voter suppression tactic.
We need your help to defend the right to vote in these 27 states and beyond. Will you chip in with $25 or whatever you can today to help us fight back against voter suppression and intimidation? >> [[link removed]]

The problem is not only that these bills would block millions of Americans from voting, but also that these requirements to vote are a massive burden for election officials and many voters alike.
These intimidating requirements also come alongside other suppressive policies stocked into these bills: Mandatory voter purges, reduced early voting, closing polling places, restrictions on mail-in ballots, and so much more.
We need to speak with one loud, clear voice and tell every state legislature: We won't stand for any of these suppressive policies. Not now, not ever.
Opponents of voting rights aren't going to stop their work to restrict voting until we make them stop. Fuel our efforts to resist $25 or whatever you can today >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
