**What Trump’s Homelessness Order Means for Our City**
President Trump just signed a sweepin

**executive order** [link removed] to crack down on street-level chaos, redirecting federal funds toward cities that enforce bans on encampments, open drug use, and loitering. Cities that continue pouring money into failed “Housing First” programs with no accountability could soon see their funding dry up. This marks a major pivot in national homelessness policy, and Dallas is right in the middle of it.
Dallas relies heavily on Housing First and harm-reduction models that the federal government is now moving away from. With over $15 million in
**HUD grants** [link removed] and a homelessness budget topping $20 million, the future of our funding depends on whether we align with this new federal direction.
Keep Dallas Safe has been highlighting this critical issue from day one. We’ve seen how unaccountable nonprofits, unchecked encampments, and enabling policies have turned parts of our city into public danger zones. For too long, “compassion” has meant letting people die on sidewalks. The White House is finally saying what Dallas residents have known all along: this isn’t compassion, it’s collapse.
It’s time for Dallas to rethink its approach. That means auditing spending, prioritizing treatment-based shelters, and ending the cycle of funding failure. Cities that get serious about safety and structure will be rewarded. Those that don’t will get left behind.
City Hall needs to hear from you. If you’re tired of seeing our parks, streets, and sidewalks taken over by chaos, let your council member know: it’s time to bring accountability back. Tell them to get serious about enforcement, rehabilitation, and funding only what yields results.

**"Crime Is Down!... Just Not From Where We're Standing!"**
City Hall keeps telling us “crime is down,” pointing at charts and patting themselves on the back. Meanwhile, the city’s getting robbed blind. This cartoon says it all, while our elected officials celebrate their own stats, the reality on the ground is chaos. Break-ins. Assaults. Rampant theft.

**Mission Statement:**
Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
