Hi John,
July is Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, also known as BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month.
Bebe Moore Campbell was a Black author and mental health advocate for Black and underrepresented communities. Her advocacy and written works emphasize compassion, especially in the face of stigma within and about communities of color.
This moment continues to be challenging for every one of us, our loved ones, and the people who may not look like us, but are still harmed—and it may feel like we’re stuck in survival mode—so it is all the more important to ground ourselves and care for our mental well-being, whatever that may look like to you.
At Immigrants Rising, we offer programs to support your mental health, and I invite you to join us and use them as a space to relax, process, and feel more at ease.
