This month, the House Armed Services Committee marked up and passed our version of the FY'26 National Defense Authorization Act. I championed 23 amendments in this year's package, including Limitation on Use of Funds to Reduce the Number of Civilian Personnel Employed at Pine Bluff Arsenal, Arkansas, and Red River Army Depot, Texas.
This amendment prohibits FY2026 funding cuts to civilian personnel at Pine Bluff Arsenal and Red River Army Depot (in our district) without certification of statutory compliance, requiring a report on cost impacts and capability gaps, while safeguarding defense manufacturing, civilian jobs, and strategic industrial capacity.
President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill was signed into law on July 4th, marking many wins for the American people:

- Delivers historic tax relief for seniors by implementing no tax on Social Security
- Secures our border and protects our homeland by hiring 10,000 new ICE officers and providing funding to aid in stopping the flow of fentanyl
- Supports our national security by securing $25B for the Golden Dome missile defense system -- deterring modern threats from our adversaries
H.R. 3095 is a bill to designate zip codes for certain areas. I was an original cosponsor and worked with the bill's sponsor to have Fate, TX and Heath, TX both included, at their request.
While a seemingly small thing, having a unique zip code will reduce delays in emergency responses, guarantee sales tax revenue is properly routed to the city it should go to, and ensure mail deliveries occur timely and accurately. H.R. 3095 passed the House on July 21st.
