Our courts are weighted too heavily with judges who advanced corporate interests as lawyers -- and there are far too few judges who have experience on behalf of everyday Americans, representing workers, consumers, and indigent defendants.
At the same time, the law is being skewed in favor of corporations, giving them astonishing power. Under Chief Justice John Roberts, the Supreme Court has sided with corporate interests 70% of the time.
If we are going to rein in corporate power, address income inequality, and close the racial wealth gap, we need to turn the tide in our courts.
