John,

Trump's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been punting decisions on whether to defend critical protections to get toxic lead out of our water and hold polluters accountable to clean up toxic PFAS.

But this Monday, their time is up again. Take action before the Monday deadline: Urge EPA Administrator Zeldin to defend critical water protections against lead and PFAS in court. ([link removed])

Because of supporters like you, we were able to prevent Congress from gutting the Lead Out of Water Rule and public pressure has defended existing regulations against lead in drinking water.

But now, with the extended decision deadline on lead protections this Monday, it’s up to us to mobilize even greater public pressure towards the EPA to defend these historic water rules in court.

Join me in sending a message to Zeldin today! ([link removed])

Subject: Tell Zeldin: Defend PFAS Protections

John,

It’s hard to believe that in 2025, millions of families in the U.S. are still exposed to lead in their drinking water every single day. Nearly half of municipalities are estimated to have toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” in their water, thanks to greedy chemical companies content to poison our water for profit.

We took significant steps toward tackling these threats during the Biden Administration, but now, under Trump, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) could reverse that progress.

Take action: Tell EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to do his job and protect our communities from toxins in our water! ([link removed])

Historic protections aimed at keeping our water safe from lead and PFAS are facing challenges in court from polluters, and Trump’s EPA, under Lee Zeldin, will soon decide whether to defend these protections in court.

The Lead out of Water Rule (officially the “Lead and Copper Rule Improvements”) strengthens protections against lead in drinking water by requiring full lead service line replacement in a decade for most communities. There is no safe level of lead in drinking water, and it is especially dangerous for children. It can lead to developmental disorders, damage to the nervous system and blood cells, and more.

Toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” don’t readily break down on their own in the environment. They leach into our food, water, ecosystems, and even our bodies, causing numerous health issues, including low birth weight, cancer, and other harmful illnesses. Now, two important Biden-era actions are under attack: one that sets limits for PFAS in drinking water, and one that designates PFOA and PFOS as hazardous substances – the first step to holding polluters accountable.

Protect Drinking Water ([link removed])

We won’t allow the Trump regime to take us back to a time before the environmental movement — before laws that protect our food, water, and air from toxic pollution. We will fight with everything we have to defend environmental protections that keep our communities safe.

The diseases, developmental disorders, and internal damage caused by lead and PFAS in our water are preventable. The EPA must protect communities from these toxic substances in our water, not roll back important progress we’ve made toward safe water for our families.

Demand that EPA Administrator Zeldin do the right thing by defending critical drinking water protections against lead and PFAS in court. ([link removed])
