I’ll be honest, John: I never thought that I would be in this position.

I have spent my career helping people and uplifting our communities in the Inland Empire and Orange County – from starting my own small business and helping others start and sustain theirs, to fighting for kids on the school board, and later, through my national organization, Our Schools USA.

But, when I saw Young Kim fail us by putting the MAGA agenda ahead of our communities, I knew I had to act. There is too much at stake to sit on the sidelines.

The good news is that Young Kim has lost a congressional election before. In fact, it was in a Trump midterm election just like this one. We have a real opportunity to fire Young Kim – the last Republican representing OC in Congress – and replace her with an actual community leader.

Unlike others in this race, I have real experience standing up to the MAGA agenda. When Moms for Liberty descended upon my community, I stood up for kids on my school board who faced LGBTQIA+ hate. Far-right extremists threatened me with guns, tried to break into my home, and harassed me online because I took a stand.

I have no regrets.

I did the right thing for those kids, even if it meant losing my seat by a mere 317 votes. Then, I took this fight nationally – helping thousands of parents fight back to protect their public schools, and now, I’m running for Congress.
