The haunting images of starving people in Gaza evoke memories of some of the darkest days of our own history as Jews. But this is not history. It’s happening right now, and we have a moral obligation to act. Even as the House of Representatives is in recess, NJN is mobilizing cosponsors for a resolution to press for change. | |

Jews Cry Out: Let Food into Gaza On Monday, NJN joined with partner organizations, including T’ruah and NYJA, for a protest outside of the Israeli consulate in New York to call for getting food into Gaza, for an end to the war, and for the release of hostages. With hundreds in attendance, we showed that American Jews strongly oppose what is happening. The event ended when eight rabbis engaged in an act of civil disobedience and blocked traffic. As the crowd chanted “let Gaza live” and “that’s my rabbi,” the rabbis were arrested by police. Check out photos and videos from the protest, including a powerful speech from NJN board member Ken Bob. ---- Join us again in New York this Monday, August 4, at 6:30pm, where we're rallying along with other Jewish organizations across from Trump Tower at Columbus Circle. See the details for Monday's protest. |

The vote was a clear signal that Congress is frustrated with Israel's actions in Gaza. NJN called on the Senate to pass the resolutions which do not impact the sale of defensive weapons to Israel, like Iron Dome and David's Sling. |

NJN Warns of Rising Threat of Annexation by Israel’s Government Israel’s Finance Minister said that Israel was “closer than ever” to rebuilding settlements in Gaza. They show us that the Israeli government has adopted a dangerous strategic mindset rooted in permanent Israeli military control of the Palestinians. This approach would compel Israelis to live forever by the sword... |

The situation in Syria continues to evolve rapidly. This week, NJN and J-LINK co-hosted a webinar with Dr. Samir Altaqi, former Syrian member of parliament, former advisor to the prime minister, and a leader in track-two diplomatic efforts, and Amb. Alon Liel, the former Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Israeli Ambassador to South Africa that provided expert insights into Syria's political landscape, regional dynamics, and the potential pathways for diplomatic engagement with Israel and Western nations. |
