Friends,

I started this year with the same promise I made at the start of my first term in Congress: to work tirelessly for the families of the Third District and hardworking people across the country.

But one thing I didn’t expect back in January is what that fight would look like as 2020 required historic urgency and relief from Congress. With that, I was proud to:

  • Deliver economic relief to millions of Americans as the coronavirus caused record unemployment and small businesses to suffer.

  • Provide emergency protection and support to our frontline workers who have helped pull our communities through this ongoing pandemic.

  • Call for nursing home oversight to make sure our seniors and health care workers get the care and protection they need.

  • Demand law enforcement reform and ending the indefensible use of force by police departments which disproportionately harms Black and Brown communities.

Everything we’ve seen in 2020 has exposed deeply flawed, unjust, and broken systems in our country’s framework. From healthcare disparities, to racial inequities in housing, education and criminal justice, to millions of people living paycheck to paycheck – vulnerable communities and hard working people are suffering as a result.

That makes our work that much more critical, team. And our work is far from over – in fact, it’s just begun.

As someone who chose to re-enter public service after years working in the private sector, the past few months have underscored why my decision was truly right for me. Tough times call for leadership, bringing communities together, and tangible reforms to provide people with desperately needed relief.

You sent me to Congress because I am up for the challenge, no matter how difficult. And that’s why I am asking you today to support my 2020 re-election campaign with a contribution before our June 30th deadline.

I can’t thank you enough for helping me do this work. And I can’t think of a more important time to roll up my sleeves and continue serving our community.

Gratefully,

Lori
