John, let me be candid with you. As the nation begins to reopen, we can expect to see an increase in exploitation and trafficking of vulnerable populations like low wage essential workers such as cleaners, agricultural laborers, and meatpackers. For people in dire economic conditions, traffickers will find ways to keep them trapped in these situations.
With your support, Polaris will keep working to change the systems and injustices that enable trafficking to flourish, like racism, oppression, and violence against women. We'll continue to connect victims and survivors to emergency shelter, health care, and other services. The time to act is now.
Remember, your first gift will be tripled in honor of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. If you're able to, please don't wait to make a donation to Polaris and make your first gift a special one.
Thank you for your generosity and helping light the path to freedom.
Sincerely,
Nancy McGuire Choi
Interim CEO
P.S. COVID-19 has shown us just how critical and fragile social safety nets are to vulnerable populations. Please help Polaris continue to connect victims and survivors to social safety nets by making a gift today. |
