Folks, July has been a month of major shifts in our political environment, breaking scandals, and disturbing information coming to light.

In spite of this chaos, I promised to be a Senator of action, and I keep my promises.

I’m focused on the kitchen-table issues that don’t make front-page news, but impact us in personal and profound ways.

Equal pay for Black women.
Rebuilding trust between communities and law enforcement.
Better healthcare access for first responders and military families.

I’m proud of what we’ve been able to achieve together in an extremely tough environment. There’s no doubt in my mind, August will bring more chaos and cover-ups.

But I’ll be out every day, on Capitol Hill and in our communities, doing the real and unglamorous work of public service. And I hope you’ll be by my side.
