John,
In the fight for true criminal justice equality and transformation, District Attorneys hold an immense amount of influence in either reinforcing or reforming structural racism. One of the many ways that DA’s can begin to transform our incarceration systems is through Conviction Integrity Units.
Conviction Integrity Units are divisions of prosecutorial offices that work to prevent, acknowledge, and mitigate false convictions. But without clear and accurate information, these units can't achieve their goal.
On June 26th at 5pm CST and June 29th at 12pm CST, we will be hosting Conviction Integrity Unit Trainings. During these trainings, you’ll learn how to research the independence, breadth of review, transparency and staffing of these units.

While CIU’s have the potential of being a transformative tool in our incarceration systems, without clear and transparent internal guidelines these units are prone to overlooking past injustices. Our training will provide you with the essential means of addressing and identifying these pitfalls while discussing ways to make civilian change in the prosecutorial processes.
We have the power to ensure our DA’s are held accountable for the transformation of our criminal justice systems. Sign up and join our team on June 26th at 5pm CST and June 29th at 12pm CST to learn more about how to effectively review the Conviction Integrity Units.
We look forward to seeing you soon,
Team Real Justice
