Dream Corps #cut50’s National Organizer Louis L. Reed will be joined by Bay Area artist and activist, Jamal Trulove, Hartford City Councilman TJ Clarke III, and Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. 

Together, they’ll discuss the urgent changes needed to reimagine policing, the impact of the Black Lives Matter movement, and how policy and activism can work hand-in-hand. Drawing upon their unique perspectives as activists, elected leaders, and law enforcement.

Our first task is to save lives and get through this crisis, by stopping a pandemic that’s raging through our jails and prisons. But our ultimate goal is to build a better future for the millions of people hit first and worst by the pandemic and Depression-era unemployment.

Our country is forever changed by these crises. There’s absolutely no going back to normal. In fact, we don’t want to go back to a normal that left 2.3 million human beings behind bars and millions more afraid for their lives in interactions with law enforcement. Together, we’re reimagining a new normal and working to build a country that’s much better than before.
