Recently, the Trump administration denied Allegany and Garrett counties critical disaster relief. This petty decision is another part of their partisan games.
These counties are still recovering from devastating storm damage that destroyed homes and businesses.
Yet FEMA and the Trump administration said that support was “not warranted.” This decision is punishing.
So it’s time for us to play defense.
My team and I are appealing their decision. Not only do we meet the criteria to receive federal support, but we exceed it. But the only states that received federal disaster relief are ones that voted for Trump.
What’s ironic is that the areas that were affected voted for Trump and the Trump administration. Yet they’re being left behind.
We can’t let them get away with these partisan games. Not when crisis after crisis keeps popping up.
