The United States has just reported the largest one-day total of new COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic. Cases are on the rise in several states, including in West Virginia.

Something’s wrong, John. 

Americans have been placed on the altar of Wall Street greed. Unsafe and hasty plans to “re-open” have no regard for the working class, but the stock market and billionaires are doing really great. 

Now, hospitals in the South and West are pleading with public officials and the general public to wear masks and stay home as their ICU beds fill with COVID patients. 

Predictably, employers are asking the government for liability waivers as they force employees back to often benefit-less, low-wage jobs, safety be damned. 

I won’t stand for this. Will you chip in $5 right now and help me fight for a government that works for all of us instead of feeding corporate greed?

Every American should be receiving a monthly $2,000 check right now and every month for the duration of this crisis. Other countries have taken similar action, their curves have flattened, and their economies are reopening. 

We deserve a government that puts people over profit, and representatives who understand the justified fears we have in exposing ourselves and our loved ones to COVID for the sake of “the economy.”
