Governor DeWine Appoints Two to Fill Judicial Vacancies?
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced two appointments to fill judicial vacancies. He appointed Larry N. Heiser to serve as a judge on the Marion County Family Court, and Jon M. Ickes to serve as a judge on the Sandusky County Court of Common Pleas, General and Domestic Relations Division.
Heiser, of Marion, will assume office on July 13, 2020, and must run for election on November 3, 2020, for the remainder of the term ending February 8, 2023. Heiser is replacing Judge Deborah Alspach, who retired from the Marion County Family Court on February 1, 2020. ?
Heiser received his bachelor?s degree from The Ohio State University and his law degree from Ohio Northern University.? He currently is in private practice. Heiser served as acting judge in the Marion Municipal Court, and as a Magistrate for the Marion Municipal Court. Heiser is a member of the Marion County Bar Association, Marion County Bar Association Probate Committee, Marion County Law Library Committee, JDAI Assessment Team, and NCORC Advisory Board. He is also co-chair of the Marion County Bar Association Family Law Committee.
Ickes, of Fremont, will assume office on July 6, 2020, and must run for election on November 3, 2020 to retain the seat for the term ending December 31, 2020. Ickes is replacing Judge John P. Dewey, who retired from the Sandusky County Court of Common Pleas, General and Domestic Relations Division on May 31, 2020.
Ickes received his bachelor?s degree from Bowling Green State University, and his law degree from the University of Toledo, College of Law.? He currently is in private practice. ?Ickes is a member of the?Sandusky County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and Freemason.?
