Missouri Republican Josh Hawley, clearly suffering from a momentary lapse of treason, appears to be in the market for a new political identity, kicking the proverbial tires of populism, and it hasn't gone unnoticed by the MAGA cult leader. Earlier this week Hawley introduced legislation to issue $600 tariff rebate checks to help everyday Americans absorb the inevitable price hikes caused by Donald Trump's idiotic tariff crusades. Yesterday he unveiled a new bill that would ban stock trading for members of Congress — and, importantly, the president and vice president. Trump responded in predictable fashion, labeling Hawley a "pawn" who's "playing right into the dirty hands of the Democrats." The thumb-smasher-in-chief then took credit for Hawley's past electoral successes before weirdly concluding, "I don't think real Republicans want to see their President, who has had unprecedented success, TARGETED, because of the 'whims' of a second-tier Senator named Josh Hawley!" You love to hate to see it.

Scott Bessent — whose net worth is more than half a billion dollars — said at a Breitbart event Wednesday that the "Trump Accounts" created by Donald's big bill of bullshit are a "backdoor to privatizing social security." For the record, the so-called "Trump Accounts" consist of a one-time deposit of $1,000 from the federal government for all children born in the US from 2025 to 2028. "We want you to understand it," said Bessent, referencing the accounts. "I'm not sure when the distribution date should be, whether it’s 30 and you can buy a house, should it be 60… but in a way, it is a backdoor for privatizing social security." They're coming for your Social Security with golden guns blazing, folks. Sound the appropriate alarms.

Large groups of senators on Wednesday voted against selling $700 million more in American bombs and rifles to Israel ― sending a major signal from Congress of US frustration over the mass casualties and starvation caused by the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza. The bills to block the transfers were organized by Sen. Bernie Sanders, and each drew support from more than half of Democrats and their allies in the Senate. Twenty-seven senators voted against the rifle transfer, including Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island, the Democratic ranking member on the powerful armed services committee, who had never previously voted against weapons for Israel. Twenty-four opposed the shipment of bombs. After almost two years of blank checks and nearly zero pushback in how American-made weapons are used by Israel, cracks are finally starting to show as the death toll in Gaza has surpassed 60,000 and accusations of genocide grow louder by the day.

He’s this brash — when do you ever see him go 'Ahhhh?' You never see him do that. He’s usually in control. Men are supposed to be guided by reason. They're supposed to exhibit tranquility. They're not supposed to let their emotions get the best of them. That’s what happens with women. Women are [banshee noise]. That’s you. That’s what women do." Look, we're not saying anyone should punch Jesse Watters in the face. We're just saying some faces are more punchable than others.
