Today, I want to convince you to invest in our movement. If you’re receiving this email, it means you haven’t donated to Ro yet — and that’s okay. It’s my job to show you how Ro is fighting for working people across the country, and the progressive future we all deserve.
Ro’s done a ton of incredible things in Congress, so I’m going to pick a few highlights for you, and then ask you to donate $5, $10, or $15 to help us build this national progressive effort.
#1: Ro’s building a national progressive coalition to fight for social, racial, economic and environmental justice.
As the national Co-Chair for Bernie Sanders’ Presidential campaign, Ro is working tirelessly to help forge a progressive coalition that can deliver the policies that Americans deserve: Medicare for All, powerful action on climate change, real criminal justice reform, and an end to endless wars on foreign soil.
#2: Ro’s not afraid to speak truth to establishment power.
As the only Democrat in Congress to endorse Marie Newman over Dan Lipinski, Ro isn’t afraid to take bold progressive stances in spite of overwhelming pressure. When the DCCC officially announced their blacklist of progressive primary challengers, Ro immediately issued a powerful condemnation. As an incumbent Democrat, that’s a risky move to take. But it was the right one.
#3: Ro’s leading a bipartisan movement for international peace.
Ro’s not afraid to cross the aisle to save lives, period. Just a few months ago, Ro passed through Congress a bipartisan amendment that would stop Trump from using military force against Iran, serving as a safeguard against another trillion dollar war in the Middle East. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg — we could write you a whole email on Ro’s incredible movement to stop more bloodshed and prevent these endless wars.
#4: Ro’s not leaving anyone behind.
Ro’s spent a huge part of his time on Capitol Hill highlighting issues that often get very little attention. From championing an Internet Bill of Rights to personally visiting Appalachian communities to talk about new job opportunities in the modern economy, Ro’s doing the quiet but critical work to make this nation a better place for everyone, not just a select few.
#5: Ro’s taken $0 from corporate PACs, because he’s fighting for you, not the wealthy elites.
Every cycle, Ro leaves millions of dollars of corporate donations on the table — because he only wants to be accountable to you, not anyone else. That independence has allowed him to demand answers from companies like Walmart, Amazon and Raytheon, and fight to protect workers across the country.
That’s my pitch. Alongside Ro, this movement is winning some incredible victories. But here’s where we need you to step up — this campaign relies on small-dollar donations from people just like you.
Thanks for hearing me out. I’m glad to have you in the fight.
In solidarity,
Cooper Teboe, Ro for Congress
