Help Slain Officer Islam's Family

This past Monday New York Police Officer Didarul Islam was shot and killed during a gunman’s rampage.

Didarul Islam was more than a Police Officer—he was a devoted father to two young boys, a beloved son, a caring husband, and a big brother not only to his sisters but to countless cousins.

He arrived in the United States from Bangladesh in 2009, driven by a dream to build a better future for his family.

That dream led him to proudly join the NYPD in 2021, where he dedicated himself to serving the city and the nation with honor.

Didarul leaves behind his pregnant wife, two little boys, his aging parents, two heartbroken sisters, and a wide circle of cousins, friends, and well-wishers whose lives he touched deeply.

He was known for his soft-spoken nature, boundless kindness, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need.

He always showed up—without hesitation, without question.

He truly was New York’s and America’s finest.
