John,
Today, Texas House Republicans unveiled a proposed congressional map designed to take five Democratic seats and lock in GOP dominance through the 2026 midterm elections.
This isn’t just another redistricting process. It’s a mid-decade power grab—engineered by Trump and Abbott to target Democratic members of Congress and redraw the lines in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and South Texas—rigging the outcome before voters even have a say.1
Trump and Abbott know that without these five seats, Republicans could lose their grip on the House. And by packing Democratic voters into fewer districts while spreading Republican voters across Democratic districts, they’re hoping to dilute our power and silence our voices.2
But we’re not just going to fight this—we’re going to fight through this.
We’re getting off the back foot, moving from defense to offense, and taking this fight to every single county in Texas and every state in the union. That means reaching, registering, and turning out likely Democratic voters so that we are prepared to win not just these newly proposed districts, but also flip old Republican districts too.
But this kind of ground game takes serious resources, and that’s why I’m reaching out to you today.
Let’s get out there and fight,
Beto
