The last few days have been a whirlwind. My team has taken some time to reflect and figure out our next steps as we head into the general election. During that process, I couldn’t help but think about how ten years years ago, a major law firm rescinded a job offer because I was “too Muslim” & would “make clients uncomfortable.”

Now, I’m writing you as the first Muslim-American in Virginia history to win a Congressional primary election.

The law firm that rescinded their offer ten years ago has since folded. It’s time for the cruel actions of the GOP, this presidency, and my opponent to fold too.

I’m asking you to help me make that happen. Contribute what you can to help my team start the general election fight strong. I told you yesterday that we needed 3,000 donor contributions before the end of the month. We’re now 2,640 away from that goal with only 5 days to go.

We’re in, what I hope is, a major turning point in this country. One where we will come out on the other side with more compassion for one another and less hatred. However, this will be an uphill battle. We are taking on an incumbent in a district that has historically gone red.

This doesn’t deter me from my mission. My fight for justice won’t stop. In fact, it’s just getting started and grows stronger every day. Your support keeps me and my team going.
